Thursday 26th October – that’s the date to put in your diary as it’s that night we’ll discover, which operators have been successful in their attempts to bag one of the coveted top spots at the annual EGR Operator Awards. And why are we telling you about this now? Well, the shortlist for the biggest gambling industry even has just been announced and there are some big names up for awards, as well as a few surprising ones.
Although this is an industry event, we think it’s worth players keeping an eye on the proceedings. That’s because these annual awards can be a great way to discover brilliant new casinos and poker and bingo sites to play at over the next 12 months. If they’re being recognised as part of these awards, they’ve got to be doing something very right, so there’s every reason to go and check them out for yourself.
In the interest of giving you the best chance to discover great new casinos we think you’ll love, we’ve picked out some of the categories we think are the most important and will show you their shortlists. Yet, if you want to check out the full shortlist, you’ll need to head on over to the digital EGR Magazine yourself.
Rising Star
If we’re having this conversation on the premise of finding you a great new casino or two to play at, then surely the best place to start is this awards category. The Rising Star award aims to identify and reward the best new talent making their name in the industry. This is the award given to new or relatively recently launched sites, which EGR thinks deserves some recognition for their growth in the last 12 months.
Now, we’ve certainly heard of a few of these – the live tables centric Codeta and the zero wagering requirements of PlayOJO – but there’s a number on this list that have passed even us by. Obviously it will be great to find out who EGR thinks is the best in this category and head on over for a play, but as far as we’re concerned, to have just made it onto this list mean they’re all doing something right. That’s why we reckon you could just use this shortlist as a start point to explore a few new sites.
The Rising Star Shortlist:
- bet.pt
- Bookee
- Codeta.com
- Dunder
- Genesis Global Limited
- Ninja Casino
- PlayOJO
- Red Queen Casino
- Stride Gaming
- Wunderino
Customer Services Operator
Brand new sites that launched in the last year and are making a splash are all good and well, but what about finding some established sites, which are quietly working really hard to keep their players happy? While players are always on the lookout for the biggest promotions and freshest games, spare a minute to think of the hardworking casinos that are doggedly ensuring each of their players feels valued, has the best experience they possibly can and knows that if they run into a problem, they’ll have the operator on their side.
It’s unsurprising to see the likes of Casumo on this list, which has whole gamified system designed around delivering the best possible player experience. Also, sites like Mr Green are well known for their service, but we’re surprised to see the likes of Betsson and Karamba on this list, and we’re super interested to see which way this category swings.
Customer Services Operator Shortlist:
- Bethard Group
- Betsson Group
- Casumo
- Karamba
- LeoVegas
- Mr Green
- Rank Group
- Sky Betting & Gaming
- tombola
Mobile Operator Of The Year
While, yes, there is an overarching ‘Operator of the Year’ category in the awards, you’re on a site called paybyphonesites.co.uk, which does rather suggest to us that you’re a mobile player in search of mobile sites at which to play. That’s why we figured we’d cut through the riffraff and get straight down to the category we reckon you’ll care most about: Mobile Operator of the Year.
What this category promises is to highlight not only the best casinos that are out there to be played right now, but those which are going to perform best on smartphones and tablets. It’s also worth bearing in mind that this is a category that takes into account the casinos as a whole package, meaning that (at least in theory), the list below represents the very best mobile casinos you can play on right now.
